Parfetts is introducing agentic AI across its supplier data to improve procurement visibility, reduce administrative friction and strengthen commercial decision-making across its supplier base.

Parfetts has partnered with Cerve to introduce agentic AI across its supplier data, creating a centralised view of pricing, promotions, commercial terms and product performance. The multi-year partnership is part of the wholesaler's wider strategy to grow towards £1bn in turnover while improving how its trading team works with suppliers. The announcement was reported by KamCity.

Parfetts is a UK cash-and-carry wholesaler supporting independent retailers through its Go Local network, with the employee-owned business operating depots across the UK. Its business network is focused on supplying independent retailers and supporting their growth.

Cerve is an agentic operating system for the food and beverage industry. Under the partnership, its technology will process information from emails, files and existing systems rather than requiring suppliers to adopt another portal.

The strategic procurement opportunity is straightforward: supplier information is often distributed across emails, spreadsheets and documents, making it difficult for commercial teams to maintain a complete and current view of pricing, promotions and terms. Bringing those inputs together could allow Parfetts to identify changes and opportunities earlier while reducing the manual work required to interpret supplier information.

That matters because procurement performance increasingly depends on the quality and accessibility of supplier data. A buyer may have negotiated terms, promotional information and product performance data available, but the commercial value is limited if those inputs remain fragmented across different channels. Parfetts' approach puts data consolidation between supplier communication and procurement decision-making.

The partnership also takes a relatively low-friction approach to supplier collaboration. Suppliers will continue using existing communication channels rather than being required to log into a new portal or complete additional forms. As industry coverage of the implementation indicates, the model is intended to improve the buyer's access to supplier intelligence without creating another administrative process for suppliers.

The technology is expected to help Parfetts assess product and promotional performance, identify changes across its supplier base and respond more quickly to commercial opportunities. The company's wider growth strategy means that improving the ability of its trading team to process supplier information could become increasingly important as purchasing activity and supplier relationships expand.

There is also a broader implication for supplier management. Better visibility of commercial information can support more informed conversations between buyers and suppliers, potentially giving both sides a clearer basis for joint business planning, range decisions and promotional activity.

Parfetts expects to begin using the platform from October 2026. The implementation provides an early example of how agentic AI is moving beyond customer-facing applications into the underlying information flows that support procurement and supplier management.

For the sector, the Parfetts investment highlights how procurement intelligence increasingly depends on turning fragmented supplier information into usable commercial data. As organisations manage larger supplier networks and more complex trading information, technologies that improve visibility without adding administrative requirements could become an increasingly important part of efficient supplier management.
