Michael O'Callaghan, Director at IPICS The Supply Chain Management Institute, joins the judging panel for the National Procurement Awards 2026, bringing one of the most comprehensive and internationally credentialled backgrounds in supply chain education and procurement management development to the panel.
Michael is an APICS Master Instructor on the APICS Instructor Development Program, with instructional responsibility across the full suite of APICS Supply Chain Certifications, including CPIM, CSCP, CLTD, and CTSC. He also holds the distinction of serving as an APICS Master Instructor in Instructor Training itself, a role that places him among a select group of professionals whose expertise extends not just to supply chain practice but to how that expertise is effectively taught and transferred to others.
Through IPICS The Supply Chain Management Institute, Michael delivers supply chain instruction across online public courses, company-specific programmes, and online blended learning formats, covering APICS and ASCM Supply Chain Certifications as well as Foundations of Supply Chain Management. His designation as Subject Matter Expert for the APICS CPIM programme further underscores the depth of his engagement with the content that defines global standards for production and procurement management.
A further dimension of Michael's expertise lies in his use of experiential and simulation-based learning tools. He is a certified trainer for The Fresh Connection (TFC) business simulation system, a globally used supply chain learning experience, alongside The Cool Connection for financial supply chain learning, The Blue Connection for circular value chain transformation, and The Triple Connection for supply chain sustainability. These tools allow learners to engage with real-world supply chain trade-offs in a structured, experiential environment, reflecting a commitment to procurement and supply chain education that goes well beyond traditional classroom delivery.
His breadth of expertise across procurement leadership, sustainable procurement, supply chain management, and professional development makes Michael O'Callaghan a well-rounded and highly credentialled addition to the National Procurement Awards judging panel.
The National Procurement Awards 2026 gala takes place on 22nd October at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry.
