Qatar advances digital ecosystem to strengthen government procurement
Qatar is advancing its digital capabilities to support government procurement through initiatives led by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). The ministry aims to expand system integration across government entities, improve user experience for suppliers, and strengthen data-driven decision-making to enhance efficiency and transparency in public spending.
Dr. Bashayer Merdef Al-Qashouti, Director of Financial and Administrative Affairs at MCIT, highlighted that these initiatives are aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030. The ministry is focusing on smart government platforms powered by artificial intelligence, enhanced cybersecurity, and advanced digital infrastructure to ensure reliable and resilient operations.
In addition, MCIT is driving collaboration between public entities and the private sector, integrating emerging technologies such as AI and big data into government operations. These projects aim to create a knowledge-based economy, foster innovation, and position Qatar as a regional leader in digital government services.
By strengthening national digital capabilities, MCIT seeks to enable smarter government operations, support innovation, and improve service delivery. The ministry’s efforts also include monitoring and enhancing ICT performance, ensuring that Qatar remains among the top-performing countries in global digital rankings.
Through these measures, Qatar continues to develop a comprehensive, AI-enabled digital ecosystem that improves procurement processes while contributing to sustainable economic growth.
