Toga Freight Group, a logistics provider based in the United Kingdom, has become a shareholder member of Astre Europe, a European freight and logistics procurement network. The membership provides Toga with access to collaborative purchasing frameworks and pan-European service capabilities through Astre's network of independent logistics companies.

Multimodal reported that Astre Europe operates as a cooperative network enabling member companies to leverage collective procurement power for transport services, warehouse capacity and logistics technology whilst maintaining independent ownership and operational control. The network comprises logistics providers across European countries, facilitating cross-border freight coordination and shared resources.

Shareholder membership grants Toga Freight Group participation rights in Astre's procurement programmes, including negotiated rates with carriers, access to shared IT platforms and collaboration opportunities with other member companies. The arrangement enables smaller logistics providers to compete with larger integrated operators through scale benefits and network reach.

Toga Freight Group operates freight forwarding and logistics services across the UK, with the Astre membership expanding capabilities for European distribution and international freight movements. The partnership addresses client requirements for seamless cross-border logistics whilst enabling Toga to offer competitive pricing through network procurement advantages.

Astre Europe's collaborative model includes joint procurement of road transport, warehousing, technology systems and insurance, with aggregate purchasing volumes enabling favourable terms from suppliers. Member companies retain operational independence whilst benefiting from network resources and standardised service offerings.

The logistics procurement network model has gained traction in Europe as independent logistics providers seek to maintain market competitiveness against consolidation by large international operators. Cooperative networks enable participants to access resources and capabilities typically available only to larger organisations.
