Sodexo has secured a place on the Government Commercial Agency’s new RM6378 Facilities Management & Security Services framework, strengthening the range of established suppliers available to UK public-sector organisations.

The framework brings together facilities management and security procurement under a single route, replacing the previous RM6232 Facilities Management & Workplace Services and RM6257 Security frameworks. The Government Commercial Agency framework is designed to give public bodies access to experienced suppliers through an established procurement process.

RM6378 has an estimated value of £120 billion and covers Total Facilities Management, Hard FM, Soft FM, guarding and security services. Its scope includes cleaning, catering, waste management, asset and building maintenance, technical security and care and custody services.

For procurement teams, the framework creates a more consolidated route for sourcing services across public estates. Buyers can select requirements according to their individual needs, while also incorporating priorities around social value and sustainability into call-off procurements.

The framework is available to central government and wider public-sector organisations, including local authorities, healthcare organisations, emergency services and education bodies. This gives approved suppliers an established route to compete for contracts across a broad range of public services.

Sodexo’s appointment adds its established government and public-sector experience to the supplier pool. The company said its inclusion reflects more than three decades of working with government and public-sector organisations across the UK.

The framework also creates opportunities for public bodies to consider different approaches to service delivery as they procure FM and security requirements. By bringing multiple service categories together, RM6378 can support more coordinated procurement across complex estates.

The Sodexo announcement describes the framework as an opportunity to build on its existing government-sector work, while its place on the agreement gives the company the opportunity to bid for relevant public contracts.

For the sector, the lesson is direct: a consolidated procurement framework can give public bodies a clearer route to established suppliers while supporting greater choice, structured competition and the integration of social value and sustainability priorities.
