Lidl deepens Donegal procurement ties with €40 million spend

Lidl marked its 25th anniversary in Ireland by procuring over €40 million in goods and services from 25 Donegal-based suppliers and partners in 2024 alone. The retailer’s latest economic report shows Lidl contributed €997 million to Irish GDP last year, with a €109 million boost across counties including Donegal, Cavan, and Sligo. 

In Donegal, Lidl directly employs over 180 people through its nine-store network. This level of regional procurement highlights the strategic value of embedding supply chains locally to strengthen economic resilience and community ties.
