Industry NewsClaydon partners with Genesis Agri to expand machinery access in Northern Ireland
Procurement activity across Northern Ireland’s agricultural machinery market is set to broaden as UK-based manufacturer Claydon confirmed a new partnership with Genesis Agri, marking its first formal collaboration in the region.
The two companies will debut the relationship at the Balmoral Spring Farm Machinery Show at the Eikon Exhibition Centre in Lisburn on 28 and 29 January, Ireland’s largest agricultural trade event and a key purchasing forum for farm operators and equipment buyers.
David Furber, Claydon’s UK sales manager, described the agreement as a strategic milestone, saying: “This is a significant strategic development for Claydon, one that we are delighted to announce.”
He added that Genesis Agri’s experience in specialist technical products would ensure customers benefit from “expert knowledge, service and support.”
Genesis Agri was founded by Stephen Lewis, who said the partnership aligns closely with his approach to equipment supply.
“Claydon dovetails perfectly with my ethos and approach, which is to supply products that I would be happy to use. My focus is on achieving sustainable growth by cultivating strong, lasting partnerships with manufacturers and supplying customers with products tailored to their specific requirements,” he said.
The collaboration comes as farming businesses in Northern Ireland face mounting pressure to reduce operating costs while improving efficiency, soil health and yields. Lewis noted that while plough-based and min-till techniques remain common, demand is growing for systems that lower fuel use and labour requirements without compromising output.
Claydon’s Opti-Till System is positioned as a response to these needs. Designed and manufactured in the UK, the system is used across a wide range of crops and soil types and is reported to use approximately 10 per cent of the fuel required by traditional plough-based methods.
