Apax Partners has acquired a controlling stake in Sedex, a provider of supply chain transparency and risk management solutions used by procurement teams across global industries. The transaction reflects increasing investor interest in procurement technology platforms as regulatory requirements and ESG expectations reshape supplier oversight and compliance frameworks.

Procurement Magazine reported that the undisclosed deal will support Sedex in scaling its platform capabilities across fast-moving consumer goods and retail sectors, with planned expansion into additional industries and geographies. The investment comes amid rising demand from procurement functions for enhanced visibility across multi-tier supplier networks and improved risk mitigation tools.

Sedex supports major global brands including Nestlé, Unilever and KFC, providing data-driven insights into supplier performance, compliance risks and sustainability outcomes. The platform is designed to support procurement teams in managing labour standards, environmental impact and regulatory obligations across complex global supply chains.

Jon Hancock, chief executive officer of Sedex, said the investment would enable the company to strengthen its data capabilities and expand its global reach, supporting organisations in delivering more responsible and resilient supply chains at scale. Apax Partners said the platform’s focus on ethical and transparent supply chains aligned with its investment thesis in technology-enabled services with long-term growth potential.

The deal follows a period of significant expansion for Sedex, which reported more than doubling its revenue between 2022 and 2025, supported by earlier investment from LDC, which will exit its minority position following the transaction.

For procurement leaders, the acquisition underscores continued consolidation in supply chain technology markets as organisations prioritise compliance, transparency and risk management across increasingly complex supplier ecosystems.
